Around 7.2-7.4 - 60, good handling, feels crap inside and small but you don't buy it for confort

very good to tune, we have had a few on our dyno in the last few days, all seem to react well to mods, later engines tend to show better figures.

My maets got a starlet turbo.. it pulls infront by a 3rd of a car length then level all the way.. until you get to stupid speeds the 106 pulls further

I would choose a proton satria GTI over them both.
Mitsubishi engine with lotus tuned handling.

These threads are boring now. Ian needs to put a filter so that every time 106 is mentioned it turns it into "Gay" or "Bum sex"

Nah ive owned 1 loved it and would buy another for a run around. Great handling and ultra relieable. Slightly lower than a 106/VTS even though its a 1.8 but not by much at all...

he has that filter for when you speak.
Good cars, as said small inside, need to be looked after, dont buy one on a tight budget cause youll only end up forking out loads in repairs.

They are a good warm hatch, were best of the hatches 12 years ago when they were released but I think since then there have been plenty of better hot hatches!

Good answer, but considering the first vts came out in 1996, and its still regarded as one of the best handling cars there is,. that says something

i would say the only hot hatch to rival one since is the 172 range
they are real drivers cars, regardless of there straight line speed only being 'warm' and the build quality not great
