The place where my mum works has a day nursery. There is a two year old coloured boy there. One of the wee girls (also two years old) apparently has been refering to him as 'the chocolate boy'  She is best friends with him and has always called him 'the chocolate boy'. The parents have been summond today and asked to remove her from the nursery because she is being racist  
According to her mum and dad, she adopted this name for him since the 1st day he attended. She came home and told them she had a new friend 'the chocolate boy' in an affectionate way and has called him that ever since. They found it quite funny that she had associated his colour with chocolate and had made the name up all by herself
Opinions please................ should this be termed as racism or not?

It should be termed as fucking ridiculous.
Bet his parents wouldn't have to remove him if he called her the Milky Bar Kid.

No, she does'nt know any better. The black kid should just be told to call her the white chocolate kid. Another case of PC Britain at its best.

When I was young I thought they were burnt, and asked my mum right infront of one guy what had happened to him

No a 2 year old does not have the capacity to understand what racism is tbh. There is no malice involved in that at all. Massive over reaction where explaining to her that she shouldn't call him that would be better.

I know Mav, my mum is also up shit creek over it. She doesn't work in the nursery but is manager of the building her bosses have called her to a meeting on Monday about it

It's his mum who always brings him, my mum says she's really quiet and reserved. Apparently his parents never complained it was another 'white' parent who approached the play leader and made a formal complaint
