My car overheats pretty badly and it has reached just over 100o before sitting in traffic. I turned the car off when i noticed but wondered why my fan wasn't kicking in

Will most probably be the fan switch (on the bottom of the rad) bridge the wires going to this and if the fan comes on then it indicates the fan is fine and the switch is at fault

should be the fan switch. Mine was doing the same because the bottom of the rad was full of shite and stopped the switch from working
