Sorry bout this I no people are always on here asking bout insurance.
Anyway I have a corsa b which is taking a cav sri engine soon and havent been able to find anywhere cheaper than adrian flux. Im 19 no ncb and 3 points, and from NI. Adrian quoted me 3000, and i will be willing to pay it, but i dont want to pay 3000 if i dont have to.
Thanks very much for any help.

They don't do modifications to the standard engine no. They however do insure non performance mods (alloys, lights etc) and also will quote on a engine swap. When I had my old AX they quoted me when I was dropping a VTS engine into it. You have a couple of pages of paperwork to complete but they gave me a decent quote

I wouldnt dream of considering paying that much unless my salary was 5 figures & then the car would need to be a Lambo/Ferarri/Porsche etc
£3k for for £12 months in a corsa How much is the car worth??

ok i no its only a corsa, but i wud rather spend this money insuring a 2.0 corsa than a better car with the same sorta stats. The corsa will stand out and it is a project which i am enjoying very much. May sound stupuid to sum people but thats the way i feel.

1300 diffrence is save that money put it towards something half decent than a corsa that wont be worth the 3 grand by the time you come to sell.

Keep it a 1.2 for a year and it should come down a good bit, in that time you could be re-building the engine and putting it on TB's. £1700 for insurance am sure you could get cheaper than that even if it is Northern Ireland. £3000 on insurance

i put my mum on my policy and it dropped. and she doesn't even drive my car...but if she did she'd be alright...doesn't really make sense to me next year will be cheaper i'll be 19, 2 years no claims. 1st year was £1500 on a 1.2 8v, similar this year on my 1.6 sport, next year will be closer to the 1k mark

OK, setting aside the fact that's its a lot of money. The likely hood (statistically anyway) of somebody having a smash within their 1st year of driving is very high which would hammer insurance even further. Does the engine switch have to take place prior to you having any NCB? Can it not be a "long term project"

I hear what u's are all saying, and dont think that i havent thought about it long and hard. Im doing it within a few months, and whoever said about 1st year drivers crashing easy, ur right. I crashed my car bad the day after i got it, but see since that moment i am a changed driver, so i feel confident that i wont crash again for a while, but of course who nos. So does every1 think adrians my best bet still. The limited milage thing - u can lie in that right?
