After all this rot bag corsa malarky, i fancy a change from a corsa. And my mate just got a corsa, and I like to be different. No-one around here has a Phase 1 106, all phase 2s really.

Dont know much about them really, my brother had one, was really nice, in the charcoal grey sorta colour, went through about 3 gearbox's in the time he had it

Mind it being fast as fuck tho, and I can get insured for £600 a year through my dad.

So, bad things about them? Good thing about them? Tell me what you know

They are nice cars and go cheap these days. The 1.4 is quick for what it is at 100bhp. With the great handling characteristics of any 106. A good buy imo.

Well, I drove my mate's 1.1 4 speed earlier and it was quite nippy, so I imagine a 1.4 or 1.6 8v in one would be a very fun car.

I was going to buy one when I ended up getting my Nova, should have bought the 106 really

Go for it.

I reeeealy dont want to crash in one though , my brothers girlfriend had a 1.5d 106, she crashed at about 65-70, it near snapped in half

Every car crash i have seen involving a 106, its been in total mush, and most of them involving fatalities. Dont give me any of this pish about being the same ncap rating, if you crash one, you die. tbh.

If he is he is lying! S2 is less the drivers car in my opinion. The S1 is the more fun car if only by a little.

Silly lad. That poor car, I had like 19 owners or something, got tanned all the time, no surprise the gearbox went all the time

Peugeot 106 XSi, 1.4, K Reg. Miami blue, MOT'd Dec 07, Taxed end august 07, speedline alloys, OMP wishbone brace, SR, RCL, average mileage, nice reliable car, £500.

Sounds fucking good. Speedlines , only need the GSI kit now. Gonna phone about it, only let down is the colour, not really a fan of the blue ones.

Is that the same colour as the wrecked one i posted? It looked shite on that 1.5d when it was running, but that was a rough bastard of a thing. Ideal colour would be the charcoal one.

You just answered my nice example question butler, looks really nice that. Was never too keen on the wheels tho, but that can be sorted.

there fairly nippy wee cars, i had a 1.4 Xsi black1 last year as a run about while the corsa turbo was done , and it the wee pug just seemed to rev and rev , really fun little car , would recomend upgrading the brakes tho as std xsi ones are shite , i put 106 Gti ones on and they were 100 x better

One of my mates has a 1.6 xsi and the little thing is rapid. Another one of my mates has a 2 ltr Calibra (ecotec) and he gets beat everytime.. I'd go for one, small little nippy cars..

These are the only pics of mine i've got

Was an awesome first car, for a 1.4 it was rapid, was just as fast as my mates 1.8 zetec focus but the reliability was an issue! Had a few issues with it but tbh it was all part of the character of the car!

My mate has the clutch and electrics issue's as well. When he brakes the whole dash gets brighter, its like a disco in there at night!
