when i go to set off in first gear, the engine dosent respond for about 2 seconds and then it goes. Just woundering if anyway has had simular problems?

what if the car doesnt have an airflow meter? Is it the MAF sensor which does the same job on the newer engines?

done a few searches and people say that the air flow meter or air mass meter constantly go wrong on the 1.2 16v. Think im off to get 1 from the scrapers tomorrow

yeah ive got a 1.2 16v, it takes 2 mins to replace (big pipe coming out of the airbox, with a clip going into it, just unbolt it and place ur new one in, then clip it back in and ur done) get a new one off ebay mine were about £40. and yeh they are the same thing hope this helps

by the way if uve got an inducion kit on urs and its a 1.2 dont put it back on coz its this what burns out the sensor in the afm

Cold engines can do this. My 1.2 16 valve used to do this all the time but it seems to have sorted itself out. Ecotech is shit
