I've had a decent shot of thetopand bottom ones, the clio is quick and handles superb but its not as quick as I thought it would be, the 306 handles just as good if not better as its the lighter rallye model pretty dam quick as well just not as much toys as the clio, as for the BRM i've no idea altho I love the interior in them lol

I have been driving a 416 for years as a second car and it is so so comfy to drive, not sure it compares to the brm though.

Iv driven all of them (although the rover only once)
the 306 and 172 are in a different league, im a renault fan so id say 172 (which is slightly quicker in a straight line) but the 306 is a much more involved drive and quicker at 80 mph+
ether way mate your onto a winner if you go for ether one.

Aye, interior in them is utter shite, my parents one did that, heap of shite.
Nippy cat though, and nice to drive, just crappy build quality.

How does the BRM compare in a straight line?

As Dave has said, I havn't driven any BUT!
My mate has a Clio Cup and its a very capable car and can be quite skittish when you give it some! Loads of fun.
My other mate used to have a Xsara VTS - Same engine as the 306 GTi Rallye only 5 speed and that was quite nippy. Sounded brilliant with an exhaust and filter too!
I don't have a friend whos owned a BRM though!
I feel like Cupra Steve!

didnt feel that much quicker than the corsa gsi i had at the time,
i havnt got a clue what the stats are for them but id say its in a different (lower) league to the 172/306

That is the exact 306 I would buy, its owned by a friend of mine from 306gti6. It is soo nice. I cant help thinking the 172 would be more agile and fun all round.

well iv got a 172 and its awsome,
most people only look at 0-60 etc but things like the breaks on the 172 are sooo powerfull, and there pritty stacked out with things like exons, digital climate control etc
and for the record iv done 35k (cars now on 68k) in my 172 with no probs other than service items, and shit loads of front tyres lol

Clio most iconic car there for a reason and with some mild tuning can rip the arsehole out of some bigger cars
I'm in two minds whether to trade down to one of these for a bit of fun after seeing how well one of them went at the Pistonhead Kent Run me and JR went to.

Also I've driven the clio briefly and it was great, at least you wont have to worry about if you can live with downgrading in build quality
