Have decided to move back to my mums due to my flat mate pissing off to the isle of man with no notice and the fact I want to weigh up my options in terms of maybe buying somewhere soon. Anyway when this happens i'm going to require a car, not had one for about 3 years

Anyways the intention is to save a bit so am lookin gto buy something for around £1k. Would like somehting that's going to put a bit of a grin on my face and if it breaks won't cost the world to fix.

Just had a few quotes on 205 gti and mk2 golf gti all coming in around £700 (not bad considering got 0ncd etc), tried botht he 1.6 gti and the 1.9 gti and quote was the same

Any other ideas? As said please bear in mind I don't want it to cost the world to fix if (when) it breaks.

3 years christ are you sure you remember how to drive??

Golf GTi 16v would be a laugh for a grand, or a 6 cylinder E30 if you can find a not rotton one.

I'd have a 205, Miami Blue, facelift one with a 1.9 and half leather.

That's what i'm thinking. Seem to be a few more about than 16v mk2's aswell.

6 pot beema is the ideal but too much to go wrong etc imo.

Clios are expensive to maintain.

Calibra is a excellent shout, cheap as chips for a high spec 2.0 16v with leather, aircon, decent mileage, can get one for £1000
