Just wondered how you keep yourself motivated to go week in week out? I have spells of goin and not goin. I go to loose weight plus do body building. The thing that gets me is i weigh myself before every workout and i never seem to loose any. I know there are alot of factors that contribute to this but its the not seeing any progress that makes me think is it worth goin.

if your diet isnt great then you wont see any great results at the gym TBH.

have u weighed yourself at the same times of the day?
Do you feel better for going to the gym? if you do, that should give you motivation to keep going

Best way to do is keep a log of everything, phot diary so you can see the difference!
Weighing yourself isnt the best indication as your going to lose weight and body build! this in its self is a contradiction! Cant really do both and expect to see a difference in weight.
Get yourself a good routine and get your eating correct then you ll see gains and improvements. If you want further help u2u me n i ll give you some more info.

be sensible with foods (no pizzas!) and do at least 10 minute run everyday. thats what i do as a warm up. weekends are my lazy days though
eat little and constantly. dont eat nothing all day then have a roast at the end of it. eat fruit and food with low calories. you should be shitting consistantly too. if you shit like 3 times a day then dont shit for another 3 days, your unhealthy

i dont need motivation i love going to the gym, theres nothing better.
its a way of life not something you need to be motivated to do.
if you want to lose weight do cardio twice a day, eat less calories than you burn its that easy.
dont go by the scales either the mirror is a better judge of improvement (unless you have body dysmorhia (sp) ) lol.

do you have a training partner?
i actually really enjoy the gym, new workout programs and noticing im getting more toned by myself and other people keeps me going.have you got a more 'hardcore' gym nearby instead of some fitness centre?
a proper gym will be full of people with the same goals and people clued up on bodybiulding in general and you might even be able find a training partner

why not pizzas? All things in moderation

I do have a training partner as i had got to the stage where i was doing free weights where i just needed someone there. Now i find it easier to go straight from work, plus its not dead busy but my mate doesnt finish till 5 so its nearly 6 by the time we get there.
As what Flame1987 said...i dont feel much better when ive been but when i havent been for abit i can tell.

I go to the gym a few days a week because i like it. i really enjoy lifting weights, i hate the running side of it but i do it anyway to keep my fitness up.
running is probably the best way to lose weight i think.

Your not doing it right...
Your either not working hard enough at the gym, or eating the wrong stuff....
Also it's pointless trying to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time... As both are counter acting... i.e. To lose fat you need to get rid of all your bodies energy supplies... to gain muscle your body has to have energy to rebuild itself.
It's also pointless going to the gym with your mate and having a chat about shit while cycling fairly slowly, then doing a couple of weights and going home 30 minutes later.
Go at least say twice a week and stay for 2 hours, and work solidly for that time.
Lose weight by doing lots of cardio, when you've not eaten much (i.e. no sugar!)... say start with a 15 min bike ride, on a setting that is hard, but not killing your legs. 3 mins warm down.
Then go stretch etc
Then do like a 20 minute run at least on a treadmill. 5 mins warm down.
Then go for a 1000-2000meter row on the machines.
Then have a quick tour of the 'resistance machines' (using these actually help to burn too and continue the burning much later).
Then go have a 10 min warm down cycle at the end at a fast ish pace.
Then go stretch off and do some sit ups etc.
Then go home.
On a different night, have a healthy meal before you go, lots of chicken / protein etc...
Do a 5-10 min cycle.
Do weights, 12-15 reps of whatever, 3 sets of each exercise, then resistance machines etc... Then go home.
Have some protein like chicken or wahtever when you get home (not a KFC burger... just plain chicken).
Keep your muscle building days different from your weight loss days. One requres food / energy to work, one only works if you have none.
More muscle you have on your body, the quicker your metabolism will be, more fat you have slower it'll be. So building muscle will help.
Finally watch what you eat. Diet Coke ok, Normal Coke no! etc... Most drinks contain high levels of sugar! Read labels everywhere, a lot of 'healthy' things i.e. Subways, Marks and Spencer 'wraps'. etc are fucking loaded with cals and you'd be better with some chicken and rice.
It may also help keeping your metabolism going throughout the day, so do some sort of exercise every morning when you get up and night before you go to bed (weights or whatever). Don't eat anything past like 8pm!!
Finally as Rus says, have your 'relax / days off'.... So be 100% perfect sun - thurs and then have 'your time off' fri - sat where you can eat shit etc.
