Well, the Lupo is probably more efficient and just as quick...

The Polo would be bigger inside though and actually have boot space and a glovebox.

Yeah, my mate had an Arosa TDi S and it was a bit like a crisp packet in the wind on the motorway Good car though, really good to drive, just a little impractical.

I remember they tested the petrol against diesel on Top Gear iirc. Clarkson was astonished that in such a small car, he could sit on the M25 in the fast lane, "keeping up with the big boys at overtaking speed" or something like that.

Should imagine they are good cars.

I learnt to drive in one of the 1.4 TDI's, really fun to drive & feels like your in a rocket powered car when you put your foot down

(MAybe that was just because it was the first turbo car I've driven )

get one, brilliant cars, silly MPG and still quick enough to get places

£300 revo remapp makes them even better, they only came in a sport, so you get nice interior and few other bits

When I followed you in the 106 out of Bromely you left me for dead... it was only a 1.1 but im no slouch but that jus rocketed away... quality little cars I do love a good Lupo! I would have got one as my daily driver but jsut a little bit small in the end

I had the 1.4 16v 100bhp sport m8, The refinement on a car of this size was impressive, very solidly built, hardly any road/wind noise even at high speeds.

people compare them to scientos etc, but in fact the lupo has a lot of features and the feel of a bigger car. Everyone used to say "how the hell do you get into that etc" but the front cabin is very roomy, this is done by sacrificing rear space and a tiny boot. best 'small' car i have owned by a long shot.

top speed i found on track *snigger* was an indicated 120.

As seth said, inside front wise its bigger than a corsa by quite a bit, you see from length of the doors etc that it has loads of room

Lupo is rarer, but bettter than the 9n (twin headlight) polo

6N polo (earlier facelift retangle headlight) is a better car IMO

both have the 1.4 AMF TDI engine

Make ya mind up colin!

5 series, and now this !

But on a serious note... Lupos are fine, but not for long distances imo. Would prefer a Polo or the VAG equiv. 1.4TDI is the one to go for, 1.9TDI in the polo, the SDI are non turbo charged, mate of mine has a 1.9SDI polo, slower than my 1.2 16v corsa
