got a NIP through the post this morning cuz the camera van caught me speeding on saturday, 74mph in a 60 zone......oops

does this mean I have to go to court? or will i just have to send my license away and pay the fine??
first time ive been caught speeding which is bloody good considering i passed my test 3 years ago, and speed limits seem to mean nothing to me

my mate was saying today that if i fill out part one (admitting i was driving at the time of alleged offence) but accidentally on purpose forget to sign it, they cant do me for it cuz they cant try me for the same offence twice (ie they cant send out another NIP).

Is that right or is she talking crap??

thank you muchly

personally wouldnt ignore it as it could end in court as i think they have some sort of tracking on the envelopes (not 100%) id just face upto facts and take the slap on the hands

send them a letter saying that you cant get done anyway.

there was no-one to caution you or something if you werent stopped.

look it up online. works!

Thats complete crap - that loophole has been closed.

Forget to sign it and you will be chased for failing to provide information (which is more serious I believe)

Seeing as it is only 14mph over the speed limit you will get 3 points and £60 - different forces have different guidelines but somewhere around 26mph above the speed limit normally means a court appearance!

thats rubbish - that is the whole POINT of an NIP!!! You dont have to be "stopped" and cautioned - an NIP takes care of it

Only thing is it MUST be sent to you within 14 days of the offence - if it isn't they cant prosecute you
