Since i'm graduating this year i'm looking for a job.

Was in town so i thought i'd pop into my local job centre on the way home.

Me- "Hi i just wondered if there's anyone i can speak to with regards to my options as i'm currently seeking a new job?"

Jobe centre woman- "I'm sorry, we don't have advisors anymore, all of our jobs are on the computers provided"

She asked me a couple of questions and i said "i'm set to graduate this year so i'm looking for something full time"

Job centre woman- "I'm sorry we don't cater for 'specialist' jobs here there's probably nothing here for you anyway"

Me- "Thanks"

Well that was helpful

It's pretty true tho. You wouldn't want any of those jobs listed in there. Most are shite and crap pay.

They only usually entertain talking to you if you smell and wearing tracksuit bottoms.

Thought it was worth a try anyway. There was no need for her to be an arse about it. It was the way she said it that got my back up

your best off using reed.co.uk and the jobs papers rather than the job centre.

And your Uni Jobs Centre if it has one. The one where I am is supposed to be quite good.

The JobCentre is basically the place to go and sign on the doll/job seekers allowance.

Try going to an independent job centre/recruitment agency. Some require you to pay a fee to be on their books, some don't though.

Makes me laugh all that 'specialist' job stuff. My dad wanted to advertise a job in the job centre and all he asked for was someone who could use a tape measure and drive a van. He had no interest after 3 weeks so he rang the job centre and they said he was expecting too much.
