haha would you really be arsed? i dont understand why you would want to put a 1.2 down a quarter mile anyway. don't you just get bored? it really infuriates me why people bother with stupid 'mods' to gain 0.02 seconds on your 22.678 quarter mile time in a 1.2litre car that is designed to get you about town using as little fuel as possible. if you want fast times buy a fast car.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

if someone wants to put there 1.2 down the strip then so be it. it is about beating your own personal time not about beating the person next to you who has a 2.0 etc

but surely a light breeze would make a difference over a quarter mile in a 1.2 so still why bother?

It would be like driving your car in the winter, can you tell the difference?
If it was a big power car, it would, theoretically, make a difference.

my arguement was about putting icecubes in your airbox. if you want to do it fair play, in my opinion its a waste of 15 quid when you dont even get past 70 so you can do it on the road if you like!!

i heard silver graffix take at least a second of your time due to the decrease in drag over the shiny surface

probably better having a Intercooler sprayed with chilled water. but then you would offset the benefit of the denser air with the resistance of the IC

and what would an intercooler achieve on a naturally aspirated 1.2?

Hes not talking about taking his car down the 1/4 mile, he asking if the principle idea of putting ice in your airbox will cool down the air enough to make a difference.
People on here, always jump to fucking conclusions, ffs.
