My ford escort gti

Though I love the car Im getting increasingly fed up of its speed (corsa was much faster!)

The car is comfy inside and to drive , and is mint condition bar the odd rust bubble. I want to make it faster , but dont know if I want to slide down the slippery slope of spending money on a car again !

I used to spend money on the corsa like I was pulling it off a tree , but I think/hope Ive got a little wiser when I say I dont want to waste any more money !

I think whats brought it on more its the fact I have been working on my cousins escort gti getting it ready for its MOT and have loved every minute of the work!

I know people will say leave it its a Ford Escort at the end of the day , but the same applies to all other cars ?

AMEN

Your thoughts ?

If it aint fast enough, get something that is. Like you said you'll just end up ploughing money into that then at the end you'll wonder why you bothered.

I know but then your going down the whole engine plant route again. Its your car, if you like it enough then go for it. Personally i'm a believer of leaving engines as they are.

And hack all the strength out the front of the car?

If it were me, I'd turbo it.

Go for it man! I spend vast amounts on my cars, but enjoy every minute of it!
Anyone can go out and buy a fast car, but wont get the same feeling seeing the finished project that you built, thats what its all about.

Do what you think is best.

If you really like the car, but just wish it was fast, then make it faster. It's your car and your money. If this is the case, then do it. It doesn't matter what other people think, as long as you're doing what you want to do.

budget it, you like the car, see how much itll cost to make it faster and weight that against a faster car?

end of the day, once you are used to it, you will always spend on it
