alrite guys
was at the scrappies on saturday and found a gsi corsa so i took the clocks off it complete with a set of lockwood dials
got these wired in using the tutorial evrything works except the speedo doesnt work properly
when u pull forward slowly it goes up fast and then when you stop the speedo stays at say 50mph and doesnt come back down
it only comes back down when you reverse, there was a piece of copper wire where the speedo sit but when this was on the speedo wouldnt sit right down so removed this and the speedo sits perfectly
can anybody give me any advice on what could be wrong and was the piece of copper wire that was there be for anything?
cheers guys and sorry for the essay lol

More than likely yes. if you look at the back of the clocks you will see a whole load of copper leading to electrical stuff , maybe its come off the circuit board

the piece of copper wire looked as if it had been melted into the plastic behind the speedo and there was no more copper wire behind it

because the copper strip/wire thats melted into the plasitc is not working properly.
and everything else that works may not be using anything from that one copper wire
