hi
i have to 2 problems with my car:
1. It is idling wierd and blowing so i changed the plugs and doesnt seem to have changed it at all so i thought it might be the exhaust so i check underneath and it looks like it is slightly corroded round by the cat is that usual?
2. there is a whining noise when i touch the clutch slightly could it be a broken pipe ? where abouts are they ?

the whining noise when you touch the clutch slightly will most likely be your clutch release bearing needin replaced but you may as well fit a new clutch whilst you have it out.

weird idling may be the Idle speed control valve is clogged.

the blowing will be the the hole in the exhaust where it is corroded.

how much is a clutch ? i have noticed that it stops when you raise the pedal to a certain height?

yeah sounds like the release bearing. a clutch will cost about £100. if you were closer id have got you 1 cheaper

release bearing will problably come with the clutch and you'l have to take the gearbox out to change the clutch.

ebay mate, i got my new clutch kit for 52 quid inc postage, or something around there. Included pressure plate, clutch plate and release bearing
