Greetings from Guatemala. I am an US expat working down here and recently purchased an used 2003 Chevrolet Corsa. From what I have gathered from the net, this is an Opel/Vauxhall Corsa C made in Brazil. I have taken it out an really enjoy it, but have two issues. First, the horn only functions about 5% of the time when the button is pressed, but it works fine with the alarm. I have bridged the wires and the horn does work. I am guessing that the switch is bad and would like to get a new one. The dealership wants around US$200 for it, which I think is ridiculous, and would like to know if there are any other sources online for one that can ship either to the US or directly here to Guatemala. I found one on ebay that is circular, but the one on my car is more of a trapezoid.
The second question deals with the alarm/keyless entry. Since my car did not come with a manual I was wondering if someone could tell me how to either make it not go off when I use my key wich does not have the keyless fob. I gave the keyless to my wife, and it is annoying when I go out and have to remember to grab her keys. What usually happens is I unlock the door, and when it is open the alarm goes off. Also, when we change the battery in the fob, is there any re-coding required between the car and the fob?
Thanks,
Austin
