when i was 19 i blagged my way into a bar job, didn't know anything and it was mainly a cocktail bar so had to lie saying i knew all the cocktails.
after a couple of days it was great i loved doing it and meeting people was great too. i'd go back to it if it wasn't for the unsocial hours. you're enjoy doing it. but it is usually long hours and a lot of cleaning at end of the night.

Just tell them you worked in a bar when you were younger so might be a little rusty but will get back into the swing of things quick enough.

That was my plan, plus most places will be bottles mainly so can't be that hard.

i've never worked abroad but i've done it in england and loved it, was doing it at the same time as my regular job and had to give it up when i started doing call out. It was a cocktail bar in bolton and it was full of fanny all the time. Didnt know shit about cocktails but learnt it all after a few shifts. i had only ever worked in a cricket club before that so it was a bit different to pouring pints of mild. Think the only reason i got the job was coz me and the boss hit it off straight away. just act lively and you'll do alright.

I work in a bar part time few eves etc a week as well as my full time job- been at my current bar nearly 6years It's great fun, get to meet a ton of great people and the people I work with are fantastic too. Just be honest, tell them you have very little experience and you will pick it up no problems, goodluck

Just got back from Cyprus and on transfer day the coach was meant to be collecting 55 people, but only 43 went as the rest stayed for the summer to do PR work and bar work. Everywhere was advertising for staff too.

say your primary job pays circa £24k... and you decided to do a few nights a week in a bar...

I don't think I could do the second job knowing I'm effectively working 1 or 2 nights for nothing

Second job is taxed at the normal rate, everyone gets £5k tax free allowance, everything else you earn is taxed at basic rate tax

Best thing would be to get a job cash in hand for somthing like that to make it worth while
