Because they don't have the legal font and standard legal markings.

would have thoght it would be some thing to do with Non reflective, Just a stab in the dark really....

Iv seen reg plates with all styles of fonts but i guess its better to be safe then sorry eh?

They reflect fine, well the dubmiester ones do anyway.
