Booked a holiday then realised your passports expired?

My brother flies on Thurs morning, realised yesterday that his passport expired in march, had an appointment in Peterborough today, drives 60 miles to be told that the passport machine had broken and his only option is to go to London Don't know what he's gonna do now but he can't go tomorrow as he has an exam at college! Oh dear!

my mate did it last month before we went to portugal but he went to liverpool and sorted it he realised a little more in advance though, good look.

no but depends where he's going

if in the UK then can just use driving license but i suspect he's going to a nice hot place with no fecing rain

If I was your brother, I'd be telling the Passport Office to get their finger out and get something done. He went all that way to get his passport, so its not his fault if the machine is broken

I know, how bad is that. I think they should let him have the passport for free, thats if he goes to london.

can he not be issued with an emergency passport as they do when you lose it when abroad?

If not then he'll have to get his ass to London!

I bet ur gonna have a great time, don't think we'll be going abroad again this year as went to the Dominican Republic in April and last year we went Cyprus and Egypt. Think we might go somewhere in England though maybe

Just spoke to my Mum and think my brothers leaving it, the passport office were not very helpful at all. His only option would be to give them a call after his exam tomorrow and see if the machine is working!
