I'm bored, and there covered in rust. Will it be ok to sand them down? There not going to crumble into hundreds of different pieces are they

I might be getting alloys soon, so it will make it look nice if I do.

dont sand, just get a wire brush and tidy them up then paint over.

I was going to use a wire brush, but I don't have one. Wont sanding have the same effect? I know it will require more effort, but it does the same thing, does it not?

Electric drill with wire wool attachment. Thats what I did.

my wife (was wearing the pink outfit) did the work

and the car was pinker than pink

and those are the best stands you can get

I have a wire brush (not a drill attachment) which I'm going to use.

I got my hands on a trolley jack a few weeks back, and I haven't actually used it. I'm not entirely sure where the best places to jack up are. Having a look at the rear axle, there isn't anywhere in the middle I could jack it.

Does anyone have any diagrams or something to show the correct place for a trolley jack and axle stands. (I'm pretty sure I know where the ale stands go at the rear, but not 100%)

the jacking points are just in front of the rear wheels and just behinf the front ones. If you look on the chassis you'll see a couple of lil notches (one at each end). they are about the region you wanna be in.

same wit the axle stands to.

I thought that's where they were, thanks for that. I can't use the axle stands because I have jacked it up where the axle stands go, but no worries

Or they can go on the rear beam, the rear chassis legs, on a block of wood that goes accross the floor... The list in endless...

if you move the jack just inboard of the jacking points and then you should be able to put the axle stands in the right place. Though as has been said you can put them just about anywhere.

Spent some time doing one of the back wheels, I only had a brush, so it was taking ages. Tomorrow I'm going to get a drill attachment.

Anyway here is all I got done:

Hopefully I will make a lot more progress tomorrow with the wire wool attachment.
