my bottom end is going on my c16xe so am looking to replace the engine, is there much difference in the c16 and the x16 and can a x16xe fit into a c16xe gsi?

think the loom and ecu might be different as thiers a couple more plugs on the x than the c iirc

any engine will fit into

no, i wont buy an engine without hearing it first as i dont want the same thing to go rong with the new 1.
i would prefer the c16xe as thats whats fitted now and im no to keen on the ecotechs.

you will find it easier to source an x16 though and the condition may be better and lower milage

yeah, went to a garage near me and then went to vaux and they both said the bottom end is knocking. when its revved above 3 n 1/2 rpm it sound awfull

get a low milage 1.6 bottom end from any 1.6 vauxhall (vectra, zafira, astra, tigra, corsa...)

and fit it. job done.

get a c16xe and rebuild it then drop that it
