Just seen the news - Police aren't ruling out arson, absolute wankers if it was done on purpose!

Its a historic ship. It was one of the last tall ships to be built I think.

As AT said earlier, most of the main parts had been removed as it's undergoing renovation work, but what was left there was well ablaze

I'm confident that it'll be fully repaired

Its mainly the top planks on the deck of the ship and some of the side rails that got damaged, the sides and the base took no damage.

In wondered why the traffic was so good this morning. All the roads into Greenwhich had been shut which made my trip into the city rather nice for a change...

However, this is the first i've heard about it. Simply shocking, it has to be arson, you don't just "set light" to a ship like that.

Im glad I got to walk around it.

The damage isn't too bad apparently. The boat was 50% stripped anyway and a lot of the frame is intact, so it'll live again. They had removed the sails and a lot of the timbers anyway.

Popped over there last night.

Muchos TV crews, muchos police.

The shell itself is still there, as is all the timer framework holding the center of the boat together. Its all there, jsut rather charred and black, but definatly looks repairable.

AS said, the mast, sails, all the decking was already removed.
