I dont belive ive ever heard of there been a problem, dont take my word though
they are both the same size if you get the softstars in 16" so it would be personal preferance

some people have had trouble with speedlines and v6 brakes, others havnt. older speedlines were a different design (slightly deeper dish)
Ive fitted pads to some and had clearance problems after the new pads are fitted due to the sliding calliper setup.

That can be easily address with a little grinder action on the caliper carrier though, or getting a slight groove machined in the wheel.

I'm not talking about taking a grinder to the wheel, I'm talking about a 1mm bit shaved off the THICK part which hits the caliper by a proper machine shop.
It works, the wheel is no weaker.
Obviously attacking it with a grinder is a stupid idea.

I'd go for something different TBH, the both of them are too common. Yeah they look good, but they're not the only good looking wheel around.

Some people do have probs with 288mm brakes but i had loads of room.
I fitted 308mm brakes under speedlines

it depends on the size of the caliper. if anybody has got speedlines, softstars or compomotives over v6 brakes (288mm) please let us know.
