Just exactly how easy is it? And how much of a mess does it make?
Got some money burning a hole in my pocket, fancy a Steiny one, especially as they've come down in price a bit on the Rossiters eBay store.
What techniques have other people used to get it off?

take the whole lever out by unclipping it underneath the leather surround. Then boil some hot water into a bowl and place in the gear knob, knob down Then after 5-10mins it should pull off quite easily
