3 sources of fire are fuel ignition and oxygen why the f**k would you not close the bonnet it would cut alot of the oxygen out and possibly slow down the burning until fire men were there muppett...

wonder what caused it? It seems to be coming from around the turbo, but I can't imagine the turbo setting on fire.

thats what I thought. If you had nothing to hand (even putting it out with some clothing at the initial stage!) Id of pissed on it rather than just film it going up in smoke....unless I wanted it documented for the insurance!!

How would you have swatted the flames with a shirt down the back of the eninge?

Yes he should have shut the bonnet but thats easily said in hindsight when the adrenalin isnt pumping!

You could argue why didnt the firemen stop before the car rather than standing downwind trying to put the fire out.

Slowing the burning down wouldnt have made sod all difference the moment that smoke started to come out of the dash that car was a right off.

I don;t see any evidence there to suggest that it was an insurance job tbh!

Looks like an electrical fire considering as it's the dash that actually sets on fire. The flames on the bulkhead look to be the (oil covered?) sound deadening on the other side of the bulk head catching because of the heat.

I think I would have stood a bit futher back and let it burn. Petrol tanks go bang bang of they set on fire!
