After all the hassle I had putting my Keeep up plate on retention it looks like I may finally have some good news. They came out to do the inspection after muchos arguing & it got ticked off as being fine. That was a few weeks ago

Got a brown envelope through the post today expecting it to be the documents for the plate. When I opened it I soon realised it was infact the new log book for the car it came off. The good news is that it shows this registration...

I thought this had gone for good & that it would go back to the original reg which was something like K975YUK. Hopefully I'll be able too out this on retention & sell it as these dateless plates are apparently worth about £1000

The car was K reg, the plate in the picture is how Matt bought it, but the plate he's had taken off was different, so now possibly he has 2 private plates and the original K plate.

He might be able to sell the 230 FUU one for a grand and the car will go back to it's original K plate.

Same happened when my mate sold his M3, went back to the previous plate, not the 1st registered! Apparently thats what happens if no one purchases the one you surrender!!

Wonder if that's why those crafty southerners were making life hard for you, they wanted to make a profit on 230 FUU for themselves

Nice one, you'll hopefully make back a bit of cash on that. I would price it at about £600-700 but its better than losing it.

That explains why they wanted to inspect it.

They said they needed to inspect it because it was listed as 2000cc, and it didn't come from the factory like that

Like you said, a few hundred quid back is better than nothing
