Why are we so protective about this crap over here? Why was everyone up in arms because you might have to go to the bar and say something different?

I can understand that people don't want to change road signs to KM though because of the cost and the fact that the money could be better spent.

We do live in a strange country

its not crap is nice to preserve our history/traditions and not just follow europe in all its shit decisions. I would hate to lose pints in favour of litres/ML etc

There is a secret spy shot doing the rounds though. So do some digging and you'll find it.

But imperial measurments are SHIT. It's a pain in the arse when some cunt gives me a drawing in fucking inches at work to use. Tradition bollocks, there is a better system out there, make use of it

No idea.

We learned metric at school, I haven't got a clue how heavy I am in kg though, as we were always taught Stones/Pounds/Ounces

We need to make our mind up TBH, go one way or the other.

We buy milk in pints, but wood in metres, stupid.

My nan argues that knowing that there is 16 oz in a pound and 14lb in a stone is easier than multiples of 10

You don't though. In france you ask for a demi (half) or just a beer.

You wouldn't ask like that though Topshot

In Amsterdam, it's metric. You get a litre, or half a litre.

They're bigger measurements than a pint and a half pint.

Although they tend to ask if you want a 'big pint' or a 'little pint'

This is a 'big pint'

MUCH better than a crappy pint glass.

Which is stupid, as the builder would have measured in mm.

When I used to go to Travis Perkins, they had the length in metres anyway, you'd buy a 2.8m length of 4x2"

That's where it gets stupid.

But no-one is taught imperial now, it's only the people over about 35 who know it perfectly, everyone else was taught the simpler method.
