When I stop / put the brakes on I can hear a sort of bang , but not all the time and more so when stopping on a slope.

This came about after I fitted new shocks to the car and Im pretty convinced its suspension related but dont know what ?

my mate had an escort estate with this bang...turned out the caliper wasnt secured back on properly and was rather loose/wobbly!

yeah, sounds like a loose caliper or suspension strut

Lower arm in what way , these were also replaced.

Strut/caliper not loose I already checked that
