Finally recieved the new suspension for my 106.

Now apperently they need to be pressed on?

They are only the cartridges? I haven't got a clue when it comes to suspension, can anyone shed any light on these? Or does anyone know anywhere local to surrey who will fit them?

yes, most replacement shocks for 106 gti's need to have the old shock removed from the holder and the new one pressed in as they are an insert.

most garages can do this.

Thread isn't a 106 GTI thread, just asking for advice and if anyone knows? If you don't know then fuck off.

It's already lowered 40mm mike, but the front shocks have gone, so i ordered some 7 weeks ago and they arrived last week! Need to get them fitted for it's MOT then it's being sold, otherwise i probably would of gone with the GAZ's Dave A was selling.

Never fitted suspension to a 106, plus my brother would normally do anything like that for me as he's a mechanic but we had a huge fight and i haven't spoken to him in a month so thats why i asked on here.

Have you ever seen it Stavs? Yes that mine, wasn't looking it's best that day but if you can find a 106 GTI in better condition i'd like to see it. Everyone who has seen it absolutely loves it. There is 2 people waiting to see it once the suspension is on.

I really don't like the show cage now either! Someone wants it to use as his companies demo car, thought that was quite cheeky!
