I sold a PDA about a month ago. I posted it the next day using first class, i got proof of postage when i posted it.

A week passed and i heard nothing from the guy so i just assumed he had got it and not left me a feedback yet. I then stupidly threw away the proof of postage.

i got in touch with the buyer soon after to request a feedback, he informed me that he hadn't got it and wanted his money back. Obviously i didnt give him it because it wasnt my fault.

I said i would get a lost parcel form and try and track it, but he wouldnt be getting a refund unless i got the PDA back in the same condition that i sent it in.

Is he able to claim his money back through paypal (this is how he paid) and will i loose out here?

I've done all i can to get it back.

I have a bank statement showing the post office payment on the day i posted it...i might hit him with this and see what he says.

Where do i stand?

Essay

I always send things recorded. It's for your safety as well as theirs.

send him an email stating he didnt take the OFFERED insurance, therefore the loss is on his part and he should take it up with the post office.

Paypal are bastards. Similar thing happened to me, but only over £20. Subsequently, paypal took the £20 off me, but i'd craftily already spent it

So it left me as -£20 and then they got collectors to call, who got told politely where to go

The Paypal refund is actually just forcing you to refund except you don't get your stuff back either.

The Post Office payment doesn't prove much - but may convince the buyer that you did actually post it.

Get rid of the Paypal balance and remove all funding sources IMO.

Exactly what i did, i cancelled all direct debits they had over my accounts.

As far as im concerned they refunded the guy his money with out asking me and it has come out of there pocket so i will not be paying them a penny.

Hope everyting goes ok for you Aj.
