Ollie had the 2.2. Went in it to Southend once which is around 60 miles each way. Was nice and quiet, not amazingly quick but quick enough, comfortable, quiet

I've got a 1.8 mate. Its not the quickest of cars(I stepped down from 172 Cup) but it makes up for it in comfort, and the handlings not bad at all, plenty of equipment aswell, heated leather, a/c, electrics etc. You will get the usual crew who slate the 1.8, but its ok, I've driven the 2.2 and there's not a huge difference. If you want a genuinely quick one, then the Turbo is the only option.

This is mine.

dealer photos from when I bought it. Great car, had it about a year.
The 1.8 version. Not bad on petrol, certainly better than my old 106 GTi. Comfortable, easy to drive. As mentioned before A/C is great in summer.

Not the sort of car you would be thrashing about so I don't think engine is that important in these. Likewise if you had the convertible. The 1.8 would be adequate. Look in gold.

Yeah looking at the Titan gold ones, I dont really want a fast car, looking for sumit that i can save money on as im gettin to the age where i need to consider cutting back for a house and that.

Is there any major things to look out for though? any recalls?

I've recently bought a 2.2 coupe (pics in my garage)
I absolutely love it to bits, it's comfortable, quiet but still sporty and pokey when need be.
On a motorway run it's very torquey - just put your foot down in 5th and it soon picks up.

I'd recommend one to anyone.
