I have driven a few bad cars but todays antics with an Alfa 147 2.0 16v takes the piss. it was a 2001 model car with the worst flappy paddle gearbox ever made. car was slow as shit to start with, this crap gearbox made it worse, as responsive as a drunk slug.

driving position was shit, brake pedal was the size of a brick and the most jerky throttle pedal ever. utter utter chod.

and another thing with the alfa, you have to get in, close door, turn on ignition and hold the brake pedal down for 10 seconds before starting it just incase it was left in gear when it was stopped.

and if you turn the ignition a tiny bit too far whilst doing the above the key wont turn when you try and start its so you have to do it all over again

fast in a straight line as long as you have a gravel pit at the end of the straight to stop you even with 4 pots as standard they have no brakes and they wont go around courners the Qe2 would courner better

some saxo i took for a test drive. had been in a crash with a bent chassis, leaking power steering, faded brajkes and all that.

when you got over 3,000 revs the engine started juddering and sounded like it was choking/dying

the guy was like- oh yeah it just needs warming up.

handled like i dont know what, if you could drive a dead tramp, probably like that.

was a 1.1 desire 2000 model i think or sumit.

an actual proper car would be a 1 litre citroen ax, just because it was so bloody slow, and you could nearly roll it at 15/20 mph

well im thinking now that it half car half driver as i should have slowed a little when it started going
explanation:

tightish single lane country road, going about 55/60, came round, back end started bumping so i kept it at that speed and it stopped, seemed fine, then weirdly as i was coing out of the corner, the back end just spun out totally.

had thin assed BMX tyres on it, was a cheapo model.

took my corsa b sxi round that very same bend the same speed the day i got it and it was absolutley fine, stuck to the road.

Smart car.
Reliant Rialto.
Corsa C 1.2 with easytronic.
Hyundai Stellar.

In that order, worst at the top.
