i have a home pc and work pc

and soon to be a laptop

i just want it so i can transfer files from the pc to the laptop. i have wireless network at home but not at work.

is there a simple cable like a usb to usb cable i can buy that will work

ethernet cable, plug both in then share the folders

No reason why not if the software managed it.

Better with a crossover cable and IP though.
