you can get a Corsa C 1.8 SRI 3-door
Nippy cars. Get the full Irmscher suspension setup thrown on it and it'll handle well.
Out of the two I'd go for the Astra though. I've owned my fair share of Corsas, (B's and C's).

My mate just had a baby and has a Astra Coupe, err he struggles getting baby in and out.
Get a 5-door SRi.

Congrats on the baby. I'd say get the corsa, I love the C Sri's plus the coupe may be a bit sluggish, Could you stretch to get a 2.2 coupe or even a turbo? If so i'd get the coupe.

Get a Coupe then, lots of them about now for decent money as well.
Better all round car than the Corsa as well.

Corsa, purely because I like them

And a 5 door for the baby - 3 doors, babies and baby seats really do not mix.
Although Astra would have bigger boot for all the crap like push chair, and changing bag etc.

2.2 16v Coupe isn't much slower than the 1.8 16v TBH, torque wise the 2.2 has the edge but in hindsight I wish I had got a 1.8 16v TBH.

astra coupe does not handle like a boat - have you driven one? Standard suspension is ok but with a set of Eibachs they handle very well indeed for a little amount of money and without losing too much comfort.

As already stated above, a standard Astra doesn't handle that well but it did handle better than my lowered Corsa B.
Go for the coupe and if you can get one of the special editions like I've got (SE2). They come with an alcanata interior and 17" alloys as standard

astra coupe turbo for that money
far better than the corsa and astra 1.8
then again, I would probably buy neither and get an ibiza turbo

I have no problem seeing out the rear window of my coupe and I'm only 5'5" or so!
I doubt it's ideal for a kid though, the guy I bought mine off was selling it because his missus was having a kid so I'd look for a more little person friendly 4/5 door car than a G Coupe - how about a late model Vectra GSi?

Yes, can get very decent GSi Vectras for good money, and they have good specs as well.

im not buying into a car that just suits a baby tbh, i do want to have my own uses aswell, like what i use the corsa for etc.
not keen on owning a vectra as they loose value as soon as you turn the key
