Mobile ones that stick out the back window of the van - how near do you need to be to them before they clock you? Will they clock you as soon as you are visable even though your quite a bit away?

They have loads of range Jadey

The instant you can see them they probs have your speed. But, the good news is they allow a certain bit over the limit, 10% +1mph is the minimum they allow. On the motorway, they generally leave anyone alone whos doing 80-

Run in with the law madame

Hmmm....not me my mum She spotted them in the distance looked at the speedo and was doing 37 in a 30, but they were quite a bit ahead of her. Will she get points and a fine if they clocked her?

37 will be touch and go, but if she hit the brakes the second she saw them id say she might be OK.

They are robbing lil buggers the vans... ive seen countless ones and shat myself promtly for 2 weeks

3 points and a £60 fine, unless its her first speeding offence she might get offered this course (think it costs a tonne) that doesnt give her points but "mkaes her aware" of speeding

EDIT - Ive been ok doing 50 in a 40 once, must have had a good operator lol!

O and if her speedo is anything like a Corsas, ie. out, then 37 is probs 35 is real life... which is 10% +2 - the general "allowance"

The 10% + 2 is only a guidline though and should not be assumed to be safe. I've seen people getting done for 32 mph in a 30

My bad, fingers crossed.

I'm sure if your mom is as good looking as you are then they would be too busy checking her out rather than getting her fined

They also take a number of readings, hence why the Road Angel things have the lazer detector. They won't go off until they have fired once at you, so if you brake in time for the 2nd fire, then you should be ok.

Unless vans are different and use the same technology as static ones now?
