Just a small heads up to anyone living around the midlands, My girlfriends best mates family were broken into the night before last, They swipped the keys through the letterbox let them self in and helped them selves to a handbag and two Golf Gti's
They have 4 cars, all the keys were together, they were only interested in the 2 golf gti's as they moved the rover 200 to get the golfs out.
They drove away with:
a 2 week old Red golf Gti
an 06 reg blue Gti with 'Gzl' in the plate
im awaiting information on the plates as she didnt know at the time of speaking.
Bastards had the nerve to let them selfs in walk through and grab a handbag off the table while they were at it.
just goes to show never leave keys near the letterbox!

Although my car is nothing worth stealing, my keys are always on me in person, or next to my bed.
Sorry to hear that

Midlands is a big area mate, any idea which part? Sorry to hear that, its not just the fact that its a total shock, its the fact that some fucking twat had the nerve to let himself in and take what he wanted. What gives people the right to help themselves to stuff you've worked hard and long for? I know how your friends family feels cos ive been in a similar situation - well i was full of anger more then anything. Hope they get returned soon

not good news
but do people really still leave their keys next to the front door after the huge amount of tv programs showing this type of crime being committed on a mass scale?

It's only a car though and no doubt they will be insured, really the owners should be thankfull they found the keys and didnt Wake the owners and demand them as no doubt they would have endured a beating in the process and the trauma of that is bad enough especially in your own home.
Hopefully they will get it sorted but no doubt teh cars have already been Either Chopped, Plated up, Robbery or just little scrotes after a joyride in a nice car, Kids as young as 15/16 are doing this in my area

I would imagine that they're in a container heading for Europe already This will happen more and more as security improves on cars, People will do burglaries and steal the keys
