We used a similar method to that with a British Gas Van to get the steering wheel off a Nova once

Good job mate! that rust bucket needed to go to the scrappy.

surely it was dodgy pulling a wheel from the car using extreme pulling power whilst the car was on axel stands?!

It sure was. But what possible damage could we cause? Hole in the floor?

I was being serious! A 2.2 DTI is a bit extreme to take a wheel off!

It is a bit more extreme than a air gun though!

An air gun wouldn't have got that off! The bolts were a pain in the arse, aye, but determination got the bolts out.

The wheel was literally stuck fast to the hub. I doubt it'd been off in the last three years anyway ...

There was only so much force we could use against the wheel with a mallet or we'd risk breaking the alloy. Seat belt trick was the kindest trick I could think of for the rim
