Was looking on ebay the other day and I spotted a '94 SRi 8v with a recent engine rebuild, mint interior with full electric pack new starter motor new alternator and new battery, but rough bodywork. Starting bid was £250 so I watched it just in case and half an hour before the end, noone had bid on it so I put the starting bid on, and won!!!

My plan for this car, cos I'm a mechanic, swap the engine for my lowly 1.2, nick the spoiler, interior, and the electric pack off it and put them on my car because I have a very clean shell. (View my garage for pics)

what do ya reckon??
p.s. there will be a few stock sri parts e.g. bumpers, lights, and a set of fox alloys (14" i think) for sale soon

once i sort out engine interior etc. i will be coming to meets etc. I was a bit embarassed before with my 1.2 and its worn camshaft. (never got round to sorting that out) now i will have something mildly respectable.

Nice one

Why don't you just use your new car, and take all the bits of your old one?

Would be less work

Ah, the one in the picture, that's your LS with the buggered engine? I was thinking that was the sri for some reason

LS is 8v, isn't it?

Yeah the LS is the one in the pic. V. Clean shell bought that for £50 taxed and tested

The LS is a 1.2 8v SPi but my camshaft is knackered, unsurprising with 142k on the clock!

The SRi donor car that I bought has a shell that is shot to buggery but it has a mint interior including electric pack and it had a full engine rebuild about a year ago. I got receipts aswell. That engine is a 1.4 8v with MPi

Nice, £50 is amazing for that, it looks really nice. Did that include the alloys?

Looks like you got two great deals there

no i got given the alloys by someone else who wanted to put 17's on his corsa and he said I could have them. Good tyres as well: F: Michelon Pilot Primacy R: Avon ZV3 all with good tread. Sometimes I am just lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
