Think it's MK5 i'm looking at..yeah MK5...

General concencous(sp) seems that they are very underated. One i've got my eye on it a 1 owner with FFSH but has a high ish mileage.Recaro interior is really nice and they have 150 brake so i'm ed to believe.

Gather the 4wd is better than the 2wd versions? 0-60?

JR you must know somthing about these cars mate????

4wd suffers from the same sort of trouble as the Calibra does, it has a transfer box which can be weak.

Other than that, and rust, they're good.

It's a mk6 if you're considering 4wd, they only make 2wd mk5s

Oh, the Mk6 doesn't seem to suffer from rust as much as the mk5 either.

The 4wd ones are rarer than cosworths!

My old mk5 xr3i does the job, handling isn't that bad either, Can look very good with a few touches. There was a stripped red one in PF last month that was meant to be fairly quick.

Looking for a cheap..nice ish runaround for 2.5K and it's either this or a saxo VTR

Oh and i know the VTR does it in 9 secs too but at least it will feel quicker because of all the wind noise etc

as you said quite an underated car, mainly because its uses one of fords all time great names, but in a car that wasnt as good as the orginal

IMO i would go for a nice 2wd, and just make sure its not rusty

tbh 4wd with a 150bhp engine seems abit pointless imo.

remember ages ago my mate had the gti version and that was pretty nippy, think that was something like 150bhp aswell
