Was driving over to a mates today and the motorway was pretty clear all the way, in the outside lane i had my foot down gently just cruising upto 90something(yes i know i am a cock for this) but never touched 100mph once. I get to the end of the motorway and lights start flashing on an undercover vectra so i pulled over, they seemed alright and wasnt in an angry mood or anything.
They told me that they clocked me over 100mph but gave me 2 options
option 1- put it down as over 100mph and i will go to court and get banned
or
option 2- put it at 95mph and get given 3 points and £60 fine.
i am wondering weather to contest against it about where they said i was actually doing over 100mph, but that could turn out worse or should i just leave it at that?

you were speeding either way .. id just take the points and fine .. not the end of the world ive been done twice in the past for speeding .

leave it, you clock is incorrect and you could have been doing a GPS speed of over 100mph..
If you cannot pay the fine, dont do the crime...

I would just take the points. Could work out worse in the court of law.

i had the gps reading less than 100mph all the way on the motorway, so i know i wasnt over 100.
i can see it turning out worse for me if i contest so im going to leave it, pis*ed off though, even though its my own fault.

wtf, did they show you proof of your speed?? i think they gave u the option of a 3 point so that you would admit to it as they had no evidence of you speeding or something, seems very weird they gave u 2 options.

Police dont have to show you proof of your speed, 2 of them one of you.
Seems pretty nice of them to give you the 3 points instead of a ban. Not every day you meet cops like that.

Less paperwork for a fine, presumably.
You sped, you got caught, you got punished. Move on and learn from it (don't get caught next time  ).

nope, they didnt show me anything, they just told me i had been caught and gave me those 2 options so i obviosly chose to take the points. they were following me for a while down the motorway.

yeah i suppose, they could have been c*nts and slapped me with a big fat ban(even though i didnt touch 100).
He asked if it was a corsa sport 1.4 (for the record) and when i told him what engine it was we had a little chat because he was interested, whilst the other cop did the ticket
