just hd 1.8 in. everything connected up n plumbed in. took it to vx and the dash doesnt light up. the whole thing is dead! 
 
they said the ecu is knackered! 
 
however i have been told that the ecu even if shite. the dash will still light up?! 
 
i forgot to check the fucking battery so it could just b that! but its now too late as im home and have no way of gettin back there!!

is it a corsa c? 
a few have had problems with the multiplug on the rear of the dash 
just requires rewiring with a modified multiplug if so

i am ging back to vx to check battery. cos if my lights etc dont light then surely its my battery!?

ok it would seem that the whole car works. except for the fact that......the engine management light does not light or anything. to initalise! 
 
now my mechanic has told me he is not sure if he connected back up the starter motor earth! 
 
would this cause the engine to not wanna play ball?

no ecu light. no nothing! altho seatbelt ones etc flash up!! 
 
what u reckon it is phil? likely to be starter motor earth disconnected?

it plugs the wiring in to the rear of the clocks 
at first we had to use sme special grease to make a better contact 
now you need to rewire the plug 
but it may not be the fault if you had a previously running car and have had a mechanic working on it 
then maybe its something he has done/not done

this is the first time the engine has been attempted to start! so thinkin u may be right. where and how do i rewire this plug?  
 
do i need one from a 1.8? if i got a bcm from a 1.8 would this help?
