My mum has just rung me.

She was in a shop today with her car parked outside, when she heard a crash and a massive bang. Some 80yr old codger, just mounted the wide pavement, hit the wall next to the shop, spun the car, then crashed into a parked car on the road writing it off, and rolling his own car.

The old guy is ok, but he could barely see or walk and shouldn't have been on the road. My mum is in a bit of shock, as he missed her car by less than 5" and it was brand new yesterday afternoon!

Old people should have to retake their test at 70 FFS

Fucking hell mate, she ok?

I agree with you there, soooo many dodgy old people on the road, as soon as they hit 70 odd, they should re-take, as half of them can't actually see

Above 70 years old they should be made to do test to see if they are able to control a car in different circumstances because I know for a fact most of them would fail.

No they don't, my grandad hasn't had to do anything.

And resit their test? They would fail if they had to take a test now.

Old people are the worst drivers on the road. Was following some old twat in a Rover 200 yesterday, he was doing 30 on a 60, and his indicator was permenantly on so I was afraid to overtake incase he fucking side swiped me!

reminds me off a situation regarding an old driver. Was sat in the petrol station, mum was getting some petrol. Then this old man comes driving up onto the forecourt and drives straight through a car showroom glass window he was litterally only going about 6mph so i dont know how he managed it. He got out and looked about 1023 years old.

I laughed but then it also reminded me that i have to share the road with these people.

I see a guy on my dinner nearly everyday. He drives a big old Rover. He can't walk without a zimmer, and is really rickety on his feet.

Now, how the hell is he going to stamp the anchors when he needs to?

Like the old fella next door to me.

Walks with stick and takes bloody ages to get 5 steps from the door to the car. He then gets in the car (takes ages too) and drives away (reallllly slowly).

If some child stepped out how would he stop in time???
