Aitn it a bastard i phoned them up on Wednesday tll them im no longer a learner driver, and the asian woman said ok that will now be £1644, (instead of £1600) i thought it went a little after passing your test i think i will find somewhere else when July comes, who are you guys with??

I didn't think it changed at all.

Currently with Tesco, will be switching to Admiral in the Autumn when I get 5 years NCB. Had quite a tasty quote from them on a car I'm after.

You're doing it the right way though mate. Get your own policy and start building up the no claims

Mine didn't cost any more or less when I told DirectLine I'd passed my test. They charged me £8 admin charges though.

lol yup. otherwise when you get pulled over by the Police they check with the insurance etc IIRC,

Get a quote with more Th<n. Soooo cheap. I was paying £1083 FC, got a quote with them for £383 FC free break down cover too

you're a better driver when you're a learner, plus you're obliged to have an experienced driver as a passanger.

Yep. I moved from Birmingham to Plymouth. 6 months into a policy on my first year and my insurance went down £255 just for that alone. That means on a full policy in my first year the difference between Birmingham and Plymouth would have been over £500 on exactly the same car, parked on the street in both locations with the same driver etc.

Where you live makes a bigger difference than you think!

The cheapest i could get on my 1.4 in brum on my first year (20, 0yr ncb) was £1830 FC. No where quoted me lower, and that was with a pass plus.

Now in Plymouth at 21 with 1yr ncb + cat1 alarm i got quoted £597 FC

I was about 4-5 miles from Birmingham city centre, now i'm about 1-2 miles from Plymouth city centre. Still went down alot.
