My 1.4 sport recenty blew up, and im planning on putting a 1.6 sport engine in it, i was wondering will this affect insurance much?? plus will i need all new log book and stuff?? Cheers

No, you just send the current one back with the new engine number on it and the new engine size.

then you just need to update the v5 with the new engine number

u wont be able to tell the diffrence if you buy a 1.6 over a 1.4 second hand . only diffrence is the code on the engine

Yup upgrading to a X16XE will make your Insurance premium rise somewhat, but on the plus size it seems to be quite an easy conversion, I have been considering it myself recently as my X14XE isn't running right and nobody seems to be able to diagnose the problem

not really, i put a 131bhp 1.6 16v sport engine into my x14xe and adrian flux just charged me an extra £25 plus £15 admin for the year.
