Ive managed to feck a bolt I was trying to remove, its on a pretty difficult to work on area & is very tight. I dont want to have to drill it, what else could I do??

Tried battering a larger hex bit into it, but its not really working, I dont think it would turn anyway even if I did manage to work it in.

Cant get molegrips or anything onto it because its recessed.


Any ideas

bolt head remover. bout a tennet a set. whack it on and as it grips it will undo the nut! very good everytime i have ever used them. look on fleebay!

mole grips or just a pair of grips is what we use in my garage and if that doesnt work we mig weld another bolt onto that.

p.s. try using the right size socket

Might have to drill it out... If it's not TOO rounded try heating it up then try again..

Sworn at it & smacked it with a hammer

Mole grips wont work cos its recessed into the block.

Bolt head remover, might need to look into that, do they work well?? The bolt in question it very very tight!!

I was using the right socket!! It was so tight it just started to turn within the head. Its pretty fucked up now.

yeah they have always got out what i have needed! even got out my set of locking wheel nuts that whre tight as fuck! internaly they have three like teeth that stick out and cut into the bolt head, gripping it, and allowing you to remove it. mine are an irwin set and are the best i have seen!

Its a hex bolt thingie, round on the outside with 6mm hex on the inside!!

colin trust me, smack a smaller socket over it with a lump hammer.

i got a rounded wheel nut off this way

I have a set of Mac Edge sockets. They remove bolts that are up to 70% rounded bolts!

They actually work... i own a nova, trust me they work!

Hit it with a chisel, not one for wood obviously, but quite a sharp one for metal, once you make a series of grooves around it, shud start to come of..............

centre punch and hammer and smack the bolt round. thats how u get knacked brake disc retaining bolts out

Its on my bottom pully wheel, bit awkward to get to.
