Someone please tell me what the performance stats for a glanza turbo are?
Had a play with one the other night and the nova was up its hole...Thought the wee glanzas were a lot quicker than that?

standard they are not all that, boost doesn't come in until gear 3 IIRC, had a little go against puntomk2b (damian) from here and i had him in my 1.6 off the line and until 3rd was very close though.

tuned up they are a beast!

They can be quick, i raced my bro's mates in my ibiza and was marginally faster off the lights, beat him on the motorway by a far bit and his was running 2 stage boost and circa 165bhp. Raced one in the 106 and it was neck and neck, he said it was 160bhp too but the clutch was slipping!

lots of jap cars have it.

Skyline GTSt - at 5500 rpm or so it goes from say 0.5bar (7pis) to 0.8bar (12psi)

ahhaaa... yup... switchable,

The two mode turbo allowed the driver to change boost levels. On low mode only 115hp was available cutting down on petrol consumption while normal mode unleashed a healthy 135hp for spirited performance

R33 GTSt -

In standard form the R33 runs a two stage boost control system 5psi to 4500 rpm then 7psi to red line 7000 rpm

When it his i think it was 4000rpm it allows it to boost higher, my mates was running higher boost so haven't got a clue what it raised it by, i think standard it would be 5psi - 10psi. I think the old metro turbo's have this as my mates have a switvh from high to low boost so they can switch from high / low boost manually.

tbh it's not something you'd really want in a turbo car unless it was powerfull enough to warrent limiting boost in GEARS, not rpms

Apexi AVC-R's can do this, it it would be very handy. My skyline (when at stage1 350bhp) was pretty pointless in 1st. 0.7bar would have been more usefull....

but then again if you are a penny pincher and dont know how to drive off boost a low boost switch might be usefull

My friends R33 GTS-t doesn't go above 5,000 rpm so that could be why it doesn't feel that fast

I bet the idiot doesn't even know that he needs to take it to 7k to appreciate it fully.
