Firstly - those of you going to the US anytime soon, the pound has just risen to over $2 for the first time since 1992.
Secondly, how do you take your holiday money? I'm going to need the equivalent of £1k in dollars. Shall I get £500 worth of dollars in cash and take my bank card or what?

My parents always take travellers cheques.
Bank/credit cards will probably charge for most transactions.

I usually do cash and card. But travellers cheques are an option.

get it exchanged for cash then blow it in the states, cause you pay dumb charges with cards.
