while i had a new head fitted on my x16xe and got the car back and after having it mapped i noticed this wire but am not sure where it goes or where it comes from, it is a blue wire thats got a black outcase on it, seems like the clip is broken, i have had a look in the haynes manual but cant find it..any ideas??

temp sensor for gauge in car

yeah that will cause it to play up abit bud thers a little clip just under the sensor(blue plug) that it slots over its noy a v tight fit but u will feel it clip slightley at the end

It clips onto the small sender on the thermostat housing.

bollox the batts dead on it lol good fking timing ey
basicly if u put ur finger on the blue clip (cts) the just back abit more ubder the cambelt cover there is a small brass sensor head the spade clip litrly slides onto it

i spotted that before so does the clip just slide onto the brass sensor then?

just clipped it onto the sensor and took it out for a drive and it works fine now cheers for that mate
