The other weekend on the way to Bournemouth in the VXR I had a Mk2 Golf up my anus, so came to a dual carriageway off a roundabout and booted it, he was beside me up to about 110mph and the cars were equal and I could hear VR6 power in this Mk2

Then we slowed down for traffic, it had a VR6 badge on the back as well, must have been converted. Was good. If we had kept going I would have edged in front.

i tryed racing my dad in his rs turbo when i was in my xr2i, it lasted about 5 secs and he was gone

I beat an N reg 1.8 vectra with twin bean can exhausts on it the otherday, looked at me with his shades on an grinned, so we both booted it, he did a little wheelspin

I think he was in reverse though, poor fellow

therefore your VXR is on par with most hot hatches the VXR is up agianst if you cannot pull away from a VR6

VR6 - 170-190bhp. 170lb ft odd.....
VXR - 237bhp - 230ft lb....

Simple maths....

Unless the VR6 is running some kind of throttle bodies conversion (VERY rare in the UK), or a supercharger (which you would hear), theres not a great deal you can do to get a lot more power.

Bit like the Vauxhall V6 engines, few bits and bobs to increase power, but never gonna get much.

i had a race with an vw mk1 or 2, with 5 chavs in it, and for some reason, i beat him off the lights and im only in a standard 1.4 corsa, funny thing about it i still have L plates on

Mk2's are very light though so power to weight is gonna be between 195-215bhp per ton for both imo

a friend of mine has a mk1 with a G60 lump running around 240 bhp, totally stripped track monster... always fun to watch away from the lights
